SATURN (17 degrees Aquarius -- February 26, 2022)

Tis the day of Saturn energy -- Happy Saturday. Saturn is known as the greater malefic. Saturn will cause blockages, delays, incite fear of lack and lack itself, Saturn is the planet of pain and (with Pluto) death and sorrow and sickness and slavery....

Oh, and organization, responsibility, hard work (and the benefits thereof), longevity, integrity of structure -- and standing the test of time.

Benevolent, no -- but without Saturn, Jupiter takes us spinning through the galaxies full of hot air and no ground to stand on.

Saturn is attributed to Binah -- She who gives form. Her number is three, the triangle being the first form, preceded only by the dot and the line. She is the Great Mother. She births all things. And once born, the ne being is subject to all that great list of terrors listed above -- hence the newborn cries.

But Saturn is here, does demand that you follow the rules or suffer the consequences, ensures that if you don't work, you don't eat and allows you the freedom Jupiter inspires only if you remember to pack a lunch.

Right now (since December 2020), Saturn is in Aquarius and will remain until March 2023. Look to the house in your chart ruled by Aquarius and you'll find Saturn hard at work making things hard. Saturn puts anything faster moving than itself to work --that includes Jupiter, Mars, Venus, Mercury, Moon and Sun.

You'll also want to check out your own natal Saturn and see what aspect transiting Saturn in Aquarius is making -- as transiting Saturn always checks in on its own status. Pay special attention if your Saturn is in one of the FIXED signs (Aquarius/Leo, Taurus/Scorpio). You'll want to take note of other planets you have in these signs, as well. They are getting Saturn's kick in the motivation at this time. Look especially for anything near 17 degrees of the fixed signs.

In the sky right now, Saturn at 17 degrees Aquarius is influencing Mercury at 13 degrees (with a 4 degree orb). Saturn always puts any nearby planet to work. This is the Bossman. He noticed Mercury has recently had a vacation and went into hibernation (retrograde) and is now leaning on the Messenger to work harder. Saturn wants Mercury to get organized, get all communication caught up, put the files in order, get rid of things that are outdated, get his taxes done, and use his grown-up voice by speaking with authority.

It's a good time to get all Mercury-related things (3rd house and 5th house -- or Gemini house and Virgo house) in order.

Don't fear Saturn, but make sure your bones are strong.

Full Moon in Aquarius

This evening, the sun entered Virgo, but this morning was the time when the sun and moon were in the same degree in opposite signs -- and at that time the sun was in Leo and moon in Aquarius -- in the 29th degree.  This is called the critical degree.  This is called a Double Full Moon because we already had a full moon in Aquarius on the 27th of July.  That one was in the very first degree of Aquarius.

Aquarius is one of my favorite signs.  Ruled by both Uranus and Saturn, there is a willingness to work hard, but the person has to do it all in their own unique way -- and they will often have humanitarian ideals, whether or not they follow up on them.  I bet their dreams are of doing good in the world.  Some choose to do good in the world by working hard on themselves.  The eleventh house that Aquarius rules is all about community, about circles of friends and organizations -- especially those that do good things in the world, those that are idealistic and want to change the world.

Mark and I played our music late this evening, we sang to the moon -- a couple of songs specifically about the moon.  Then I went for my evening walk, somewhat shortened, as it was already growing dark.  When I came home, we lit a small fire in the cauldron and burned our prosperity checks we'd written at new moon.  We've been doing this spell for a long time.  When we started, we were pretty far down the economic line, barely keeping enough food to get us through the month -- usually.  And nothing extra to share.  So we wrote on our checks, enough and to share -- and we've had that, pretty much lately.  We are also advancing a little -- still looking for home.  Hoping home also includes a bit of a place to share.
